About the event
Galija is a Yugoslav and Serbian rock group, founded in Niš on January 4, 1976. It got its name from the tavern of the same name, where the band members originally gathered. The central personalities of the band are the brothers Nenad (vocals, acoustic guitar and harmonica) and Predrag Milosavljević (vocals). They are one of the most enduring bands of Yugoslav and Serbian rock and roll, and the group's releases ranged from progressive rock to mainstream oriented sound.
A large number of musicians have passed through the group, and the current lineup consists of Nenad Milosavljević, Predrag Milosavljević, Boban Pavlović, Dragutin Jakovljević, Slaviša Pavlović, Ivan Ilić and Goran Antović.
The group held its first rehearsal at the House of Culture in Niš on April 11, 1976, and attracted the attention of the wider public after winning the Zaječar Guitar Festival in 1978 and performing at the Youth Festival in Subotica, where it was declared a true musical discovery at the final of the "Youth 78”.
Affirmation on the Yugoslav music scene was followed by concerts and the recording of the first studio album for PGP RTB at the end of 1978.
During their career, they released fifteen studio, one live and six compilation albums.
